Nuvama Wealth Finance Limited (formerly Edelweiss Finance and Investment Limited) (“NWFL”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data when you access or use the Nuvama Finance mobile application (“App”). We urge you to go through this Privacy Policy attentively. This Policy is applicable to all existing customers, prospect customers and persons.

The App enables users to securely access loan-related information, including current loan status, outstanding amounts, available limits, and to make loan repayments using integrated payment gateways, with optional biometric login for enhanced security.

This Privacy Policy is issued in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), and applicable RBI regulations.

1. Data Fiduciary

For the purposes of the DPDP Act, NWFL is the Data Fiduciary.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect only such personal data as is necessary to fulfil the purposes as listed in this Privacy Policy:

2.1 Personal Data Provided by You

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Age
  • Permanent Account Number (PAN)
  • KYC details such address details, photographs, government-issued identification, bank account details and any other documentation or information submitted by you for verification or onboarding purposes

2.2 Payment-Related Information

When you make payments through the App:

  • Transaction reference number
  • Transaction amount
  • Date and time of transaction
  • Date and time of transaction
  • Payment status (success/failure)

NWFL does not collect or store card numbers, bank account details, UPI IDs, CVV, PINs, or OTPs. All payment credentials are processed directly by authorized third-party payment gateway providers.

2.3 Permissions and Biometric Authentication

  • The App may allow login using biometric authentication.
  • NWFL does not collect, store, or process biometric data.
  • Biometric data remains stored securely on your device and is processed only by your device’s operating system (Android/iOS).
  • Biometric login is optional and can be disabled at any time.
  • The App may request certain device permissions (such as access to biometrics, camera, storage, notifications,) only to enable App features. You can review or change these permissions anytime through your device settings.

2.4 Automatically Collected Data

  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • IP address
  • App usage logs
  • Diagnostic and crash data
  • Data collected through cookies, SDKs, and analytics tools

2.5 Any information provided or required to be collected by NWFL to comply with applicable laws, regulatory directives, reporting obligations, or lawful requests from regulatory authorities or law-enforcement agencies.

2.6 Any other information voluntarily submitted by you to NWFL.

3. Purpose of Processing

NWFL may collect and use information for the following purposes:

  • To administer, operate, and maintain the Website (www.nuvamafinance.com) and the Mobile App, including account creation, authentication, and secure access.
  • To enable and manage user access to Website services and Mobile App features, including biometric login, security authentication, push notifications, in-app alerts, updates, and app-specific functionalities.
  • To verify user identity and comply with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements, including KYC, RBI, and other legal or regulatory obligations.
  • To display, manage, and service loan-related information, including eligibility, loan details, repayment schedules, and transaction history.
  • To process, confirm, and collect payments, issue statements and invoices, and facilitate delivery of products or services purchased by users.
  • To enhance and optimize user experience on the Website and Mobile App, including through analytics, performance monitoring, and usage patterns
  • To detect, prevent, investigate, and address fraud, unauthorized activities, security incidents, or violations of applicable laws, regulations, or terms of use.
  • To provide customer support, handle grievances, and respond to user queries submitted through the Website or Mobile App.
  • To communicate with users regarding services, transactions, updates, feature enhancements
  • To publish or display user-related information on the Website or Mobile App where required or applicable.

NWFL may, directly or through its authorised service providers, contact you to share information regarding products, services or schemes offered by NWFL and/or its partners in accordance with applicable law. You acknowledge and understand that you may, at any time, choose not to receive such promotional or marketing communications by informing NWFL through the prescribed channels that you do not wish to receive further communications, schemes or promotions. Upon receipt of such request, NWFL shall cease making promotional or marketing communications to you within a reasonable period, subject to applicable law.

4. Sharing of Personal Data

Personal data may be shared strictly on a need-to-know basis with:

  • Payment gateway and payment processing service providers;
  • IT service providers, hosting partners, and KYC/identity verification service providers;
  • Banks, clearing systems, and financial institutions involved in payment processing or settlement;
  • Regulatory authorities or law-enforcement agencies, where required by law or pursuant to lawful requests;
  • Auditors, legal advisors, consultants, or compliance professionals, subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.

NWFL does not sell personal data to any third party. In addition to disclosures reasonably necessary for the purposes identified above, NWFL may disclose personal data where such disclosure is required under applicable law, in connection with any actual or prospective legal proceedings, or for the purpose of establishing, exercising, or defending its legal rights.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

NWFL retains personal data only for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected.

Personal data may be retained for the following purposes:

  • Provision of Services: To enable and deliver the services requested by you through the Mobile App or Website.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, directions from regulatory authorities, accounting standards, and audit obligations. This includes maintaining records for statutory periods required under financial, tax, or banking regulations.
  • Dispute Resolution and Legal Rights: To investigate, resolve, or defend any disputes, claims, or complaints, and to establish, exercise, or defend NWFL’s legal rights.

6. Security Safeguards

We implement reasonable security safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Access to personal data is limited to authorized personnel and service providers who are bound by confidentiality obligations and are permitted to process such data only on a need-to-know basis. While we take commercially reasonable steps to safeguard personal data, it is acknowledged that no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and therefore absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Cross-border data transfers

Information that NWFL collects may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which NWFL operates (if at all) to enable the use of the information in accordance with this privacy policy.

In addition, personal information that you submit for publication on the website or Mobile App will be published on the internet and may be available around the world. You agree to such cross-border transfers of personal information.

8. Children’s Data

The App is not intended for use by individuals below eighteen (18) years of age. NWFL does not knowingly collect, process, or store personal data relating to children. In the event that personal data of a child is identified as having been collected inadvertently, NWFL shall take reasonable steps to delete such data in accordance with applicable law.

NWFL may update this privacy policy by posting a new version on this Website and updating the version displayed within the Mobile App, where required. Updates will be made available with a revised effective date.
